Online Obituaries

Michael Scott Pugh, 49, died suddenly July 30, 2017.  Mike was born in Cincinnati to Meredith and Carl Pugh on January 4, 1968.  He has lived in many states but has called Houston, Texas home for the past 21 years. He is survived by his mother, Meredith Pugh; brother, Steve Pugh; sister, Elizabeth (Steve) Gable; and daughters, Jordan, Mica, Michelle, and Erin. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl S. Pugh Jr. who passed away this January.

Mike graduated from the University of Cincinnati and then served in the US Navy as a surface ship nuclear propulsion plant operator from 1992-1995. Mike received a national defense service medal and navy achievement medal. During all of his school years, and well after his prime, Mike was an avid soccer player.  Mike played on the University of Cincinnati Soccer team and in many adult soccer leagues in Houston.  He was well respected in the greater Houston soccer community not only as a player but also as a teammate. He always loved the outdoors, bird watching or hiking any chance he had.  He was happiest outside and ended up making a career out of that as a landscaper. If you flip through his photo albums you will see many pictures of birds, animals, trees, mountains and sunsets. Being outside made Mike happy but sharing that with his daughters made his world. He loved his daughters more than anything and never wanted to leave them. He was a loving father and a true friend.  If you were a friend of Mike’s then you were his family.  His smile and laugh could fill the room.

Michael (Mike) Scott Pugh was a devoted father, a loving son, an amazing brother and a true friend.  You will be missed but never forgotten.
