Karen Ann Parker
August 24, 1945 - February 06, 2017
Born in Cassville, MO., Karen was the youngest of three children of Joseph and Mary Moody. The family moved to Wichita, KS when she was young. She graduated from Wichita South High School in 1963. While in high school she met John Parker and would get married January 8, 1965. While living in Wichita they had two children and moved to Texas in 1970 shortly after the birth of their daughter.
Karen spent most of her career working in payroll and benefits. She worked for various Houston corporations including Gulf Oil, American Refuel, Waste Management, and Air Liquid.
Karen was a 17 year Breast Cancer Survivor. She spent many years giving back by providing support and counseling to other breast cancer patients.
Karen was proceeded in death by her parents and her brothers, Gary Moody and Mike Moody. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John; her two children, Jerry Parker and Kimberly Muckridge; eight grandchildren and one great grandson.
There will be a memorial service celebrating her life on February 17, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the Miller Funeral Celebration of Life House, 7723 Beechnut, Houston, TX 77074.
