Martha Canana Jones

Martha Canana Jones, 84, formerly of Odessa, Texas passed away February 6, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with pneumonia and strokes.
She was born on February 22, 1932 in Mineral Wells, Texas. She moved to her home on Jason St. in Houston in 1979 and lived there for 37 years.
Martha was the second born of five children. She had three sisters and one brother.
She has a long exciting career as a Cosmetologist for 60 years, working until she was 81. Her precious joys in life were making memories with her family, friends and grandchildren and recently her first great grandchild.
Martha has many talents such as her unique laugh and she loved social gatherings. Martha greatly loved cooking for her family over the holidays and baking cookies, pies, cakes for her friends. She enjoyed gardening and making her yard look beautiful.
She was a painter and loved to paint pictures, crochet and knit. She collected many antiques and especially liked her antique pigs. You could always count on Martha opening up her home for her family and friends when in need. She had a passion for life, family and animals.
Martha is survived by her 3 daughters, Martha Leoma, Canana Jones, and Greta and husband Claude Springer and children, Michael Springer, Riddic Springer, Hailey Springer ; grandchildren, Devon Springer, Travis Springer, Sean Brinlee; great-grandchild, Ryder Springer; sisters, Flodelle Rainey and Greta Watson.
In Memory of Martha, there will be an open house ceremony at her house from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on February 18, 2017, 8702 Jason St., Houston, TX 77074.
