Jeanne Lenore Laurine

Jeanne Lenore Laurine, formerly of Weirton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017, in Houston, Texas at the age of 84. She was born to the late Lucian and Anita Laurine on July 20, 1932, and graduated from Weir High School in Weirton. As a devoted wife and mother, Jeanne Lenore and her family relocated to various locations before she traveled to and fell in love with Clearwater Beach, Florida, and made it her home for nearly 35 years. She loved the beach and she had an active lifestyle including playing tennis, dancing and traveling. She graduated from the Barbizon School of Modeling in Tampa, Florida, and was a contract model for the Dot Burns Agency in Tampa, demonstrating product and modeling in-print work. She loved sharing her passion and knowledge with other and taught modeling etiquette and self-confidence training. She worked at the Clearwater Sun newspaper in advertising where she received achievement awards, and also served as concierge and assistant to the general manager at the two Holiday Inn properties on Clearwater Beach, Florida. Her love of the arts was exemplified by her many sculptures that she created. She also loved the opera, and in 1989 she was elected to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Tampa Bay Opera. Throughout all her activities she was first and foremost a valued team member of the logistics department at the United States Postal Service in Tampa, Florida, dedicating many hours to her job and training others. She made many good friends who loved her sense of humor and very quick wit. She retired in 2005 after almost 22 years of dedicated service to the United States Postal Service.
Jeanne Lenore had a generous heart and served as a local coordinator for the March of Dimes, and was always devoted to the Catholic Church and her patron saints, St. Jude and St. Dymphna. She never hesitated to help anyone in need.
Jeanne Lenore is survived by her daughters, Leslie Judith Mucha of Houston, Texas and Hillary Judith Mucha of Naperville, Illinois, her granddaughter, Lisanne Laurine Hoekstra of Austin, Texas; and her sister, Darla Kaye Laurine of Macon, Georgia.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful and loving staff of the Forum at Memorial Woods, Houston, Texas, where Jeanne Lenore lived happily and comfortably the last 4 years of her life, the caring and efficient staff at Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center ICU, and the incredible angels at Memorial Hermann Inpatient Hospice who so lovingly cared for Jeanne Lenore during her final days.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road, Houston, Texas, on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10:30 am. A committal ceremony prior to inurnment will follow on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm, at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, 104 1/2 S. 24th Street, in Weirton, West Virginia.
