Patricia Ann (Gillespie) Kreitz passed away on March 29th at Houston Medical Center. Patty was born on March 17th, 1946 in Beaumont, Texas. She grew up in Sour Lake and graduated from Hardin Jefferson HS.  While in Sour Lake, she was a member of Melody Maids, a choral group. Patty also attended Lamar University.

She then moved to Houston where she was a flight attendant and met the love of her life, Don Kreitz. They moved to Missouri City, where they have resided for 42 years.  They were blessed with their only child, Courtney Leigh in 1977.  Patty and Donnie have been long-time members of First United Methodist Church of Missouri City where they worked with the MYF youth program.

Patty volunteered with the Big Brothers and Sisters Organization for several years. She was co-owner of the “Peddler’s Cart" in Gifts and Decor in Quail Valley. She was a secretary for Southwestern Bell and Quail Valley Elementary.  For the remainder of her career she worked in medical related fields. For the last 17 years, Patty was a loyal and dedicated employee for Dr. Lawrence Wright.

Patty touched many lives. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her most cherished moments were spent with her daughter, Courtney, and being "Gigi" to her two precious granddaughters, Lainey and Charley. Her love extended to many family members and friends too numerous to mention.

Patty had a beautiful smile and a presence that that will be deeply missed.  Her home was warm and welcoming and full of life. She was an avid gardener, a wonderful cook, and gave generously of her time, love and talents.
Patty was predeceased by her mother and father, Estelle and William Gillespie, and her brother, Tommy Gillespie. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Don Kreitz, her loving daughter, Courtney Kreitz Calvert and her husband Wade, granddaughters Lainey and Charley, along with her sister-in-law Linda Gillespie, brothers-in- law, Roy Kreitz and wife Claudia and Glen Kreitz and wife Denise and their families, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.


Funeral Information

A memorial service celebrating Patty's life will be held Tuesday, April 11, at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Missouri City. To honor Patty, the family requests that you wear bright happy colors.
