Dorothy Jean Rodwell Arvidson

Dorothy was born in Baraboo, Wisconsin. to her parents, Clayton T. and Eleanor Holtz Rodwell. She died in her sleep in the early morning of April 9, 2017. Dorothy was 96 years and eight months. She lived through all those iconic American experiences, born in the Depression to musician parents who had their own orchestra and played for vaudeville acts like Bob Hope. She earned a PhD in biology from University of Wisconsin at Madison during the war and taught at Simmons Collage. She was an environmentalist and went bird watching around the world. She worked for a Massachusetts Audubon Society as a writer and editor. Dorothy was so intelligent and strong and courageous. She lived a long, good life.
