William David Hamner

William “David” Hamner, 75, of Missouri City, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Sugar Land Methodist Hospital.
He was born January 5, 1942 in Monticello, Arkansas to the late Bill and Mary Hamner.
David was a long time resident of Missouri City where he was a very active member of the community. He served on various boards including the YMCA, Meadowcreek Water Board and various committees for Missouri City. David was the HOA Meadowcreek President for over 10 years and founder of the Tri-City Business Alliance.
A loving and kind person who enjoyed helping people, David is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kay (Schultz) Hamner; children, Jason (Tanna ) Hamner; Jessica (Jeff) Kokes; grandchildren, Dade Brian, Madison Kelley, Ayden Hamner and Noah Hamner; as well as step-granddaughters, Katelynn and Courtney Kokes and many friends and associates.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the many friends and family members for the outreach and support during David’s illness and hospital stay.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church located at the corner of Lexington Blvd and FM 1092 in Missouri City, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
