Obituary for Joseph Randall Kaufhold

Joseph Randall (Randy) Kaufhold died on July 12, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Houston after a too-brief battle with cancer. He was born on December 4, 1959 in Houston, the youngest of four children and only son. He lived his entire life in the same neighborhood where he grew up among friends and family. Like his father, Joe, who passed away in 2004, he was talented and creative and there was nothing he couldn’t build or fix. He loved race cars and drag-racing, dogs (especially his Rhodesian ridgeback, Duke), Hawaii, sailing, hunting, guns, beautiful pieces of wood and wood-working. He had a green thumb and loved plumerias and gardening. But the two biggest loves of his life were his wife, Toni, and his 1967 Pontiac GTO.

Always his own man, intelligent, kind-hearted and fun-loving trouble-maker, he lived his life the way he wanted to. The love and affection of his family and many, many close friends reflect his gentle, generous and loving nature, and are the true measure of what he valued in life. He is survived by his wife, Toni; mother, Del Kaufhold; sisters, Kathy Kaufhold Briggs, Mary Lou Kaufhold Bradley, and Barbie Kaufhold Pedregon; cousin, Dewey Magee III and their families; three nieces; one nephew; four great-nieces and nephews; and "the best mother-in-law in the world", Kaye Campbell.

A Remembrance Dedication will be held in honor of our beloved "Randy," Husband, Son, Brother, and Friend. It should be more than just a place for guests --- it should celebrate the love of friends and family, and commemorate a life well lived. A reception will follow the memorial service and all are encouraged to attend.
