Obituary for Marion Lee Kirk

Marion Lee "Lucky" Kirk passed away peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas on March 15, 2018.
He was born in Colorado Springs to Robert T. Kirk and Camilla Jean Kirk. He was a U.S. Marine and served in Viet Nam. He worked at various jobs, including waiting tables, to put himself through college. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Colorado and his Master's degree from the University of Houston. Lucky practiced psychotherapy in Houston for most of his life, and continued to work with clients until two days before he died. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Kirk, his mother, Camilla Kirk, his brother, Robert T. Kirk, Jr., his brother, Charles Kirk, and his beloved cat, "Patches". He is survived by his two sisters, Millicent Kirk, and Robin Kirk, and his three beloved cats, Chocolate, Midnight, and Tiger Eye, who were waiting for him to show up that day at the SPCA.
Lucky's ashes will be taken home to Colorado and interred with his mother at Evergreen Cemetery in Colorado Springs, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. A "Celebration" of his life will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, beginning at 11:00 am.at the Council on Recovery, located at 303 Jackson Hill St. in Houston. Refreshments will be served.
In lieu of flowers, Lucky's family asks that you instead perform an unsolicited act of kindness for another person or animal in need, in his memory. We hope that joy will guide us in this Celebration of a life well lived.
