Obituary for Barbara Ann Nagel

Aug. 26, 2018, Barbara Ann (Dulany) Nagel, 82, of Spring, passed from this life. She will be buried beside her husband, the love of her life, at Baker Cemetery in Deckers Prairie, Tx. At Barbara’s request, a family gathering to remember her life will be scheduled. Arrangements are being handled by the Miller Funeral Services in Houston.

Barbara was born on November 25, 1935, in Deckers Prairie, to Burrell Martin Dulany Sr. and Laura Edith (Coe) Dulany. Barbara graduated from Ganado High School in 1954. She was working in the Jackson County Tax Office in Edna, Tx when she met and married her life long husband, H. Kyle Nagel. She worked as a homemaker as they raised their family of two sons, living in various parts of the country. After the boys were grown, the family moved back to Houston and Barbara worked for Arthur Anderson Accounting Firm in Houston until her retirement. After retirement, she and Kyle worked side by side documenting their ancestry. This was a shared passion that they spent hours working on and remembering the many happy, and sad, events of the years they were married.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kyle; son, Curtis; grandson, Daniel. She is survived by her son, Louis and his wife Patsy of Cypress; three grandchildren, Louis Jr and his wife Stephanie of Spring, Steven of Houston, and Karen of Austin; brother, Larry and his wife Lana of Eagle Lake; sister, Wanda of Bryan; sister in law, Gloria of Waco; two great grand-children, Aaralynn and Grayson of Spring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans in Houston or the Wounded Warrior Project.
