Obituary for John Anthony Russo

John Anthony Russo, 65, left this earth peacefully on January 13, 2018. John was born on February 24, 1952 in Houston, TX.

He was the third of eight children born to Sam and Dorothy Russo. John served as an altar boy for 5 years at Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He lived in the Houston area his entire life and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School.

John was a meat department manager for 40+ years and had a passion for gardening and woodworking. He loved to spend time with his children and 5 grandchildren.

He was a kind and simple man who never spoke a negative word about anyone and was equally loved by all. John was truly an angel among us.

John is survived by his wife, Connie Faye Russo; daughter, Carrie Davies with grandsons, Colin and Chase; son, Phillip Hurst; son Robert Russo and wife Allie with grandson, Emerson and granddaughter, Eleanor; son Steven Russo and wife Lia with grandson, Sam; son Christopher Russo; mother Dorothy Russo; seven siblings, Susan Bean, Anne Minnella, Debbie Rutherford, CK Blake, Paul Russo, Mary Brieden and Laura Wolf; and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his father, Sam Paul Russo.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in John's name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
