Obituary for David Sinclair Chiles

David Sinclair Chiles was born on December 18, 1938 in Dallas,Texas to Ernest Sinclair Chiles and Marjorie Todd Chiles. The family moved to Corpus Christi, Texas then to Houston where he graduated from San Jacinto High School in 1958. After graduation he entered the U. S. Navy. David served aboard the U.S.S. Orleck stationed in Japan from June 1958 until May 1962. He was an Electronics Technician during this time. He finished out his Naval career on active reserve duty.

After military service, David returned to Houston to continue his education at The University of Houston. In the summer of 1962 he met the love of his life, Johnette, in a summer typing class at his previous high school San Jacinto. The rest is history. David and Johnette have been married for 53 years.

David had a long career in the Oil and Gas Industry which included employment with Fluor, Exxon and Santa Fe Braun. He traveled and worked during this time throughout the United States, Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Kuwait and Indonesia.

David was called home on March 7, 2018 to be with His Heavenly Father. He was best friend, husband, father, grandfather (Poppa), brother, brother-in-law and uncle. He is survived by his wife Johnette, son Jeffery and daughter-in-law Melissa, grandchildren Jack, Leo and Ayden, son Patrick and granddaughter Lyric, son Andrew and daughter-in-law Tabitha and granddaughter Andie, brother Jack and sister-in-law Janie Chiles, sister Marjorie Descaizo, brother-in-law John and Dawn Williams and sister-in-law Sarah and Robert Yur, brother-in-law James Wang and many wonderful nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
