Obituary for Anna Estes McRaney McCoy

Anna Estes McRaney McCoy passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in Houston, Texas, on Friday, June 29, 2018. Born in Collins, Mississippi, on October 22, 1934, Anna was the older of two children born to Duncan Campbell and Mildred Adela Magee McRaney.

She was Miss Hospitality of her hometown and an accomplished concert pianist. Anna attended Collins High School in Collins, MS, Gulf Park College for Women in Gulfport, MS, and Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, where she was initiated into Chi Omega and met her husband, Theo Conner McCoy. Active in the community, she was past president of Assistance League of Houston and Chi Omega Alumnae Association of Houston and a member of Blue Bird Circle and St. Martin’s Altar Guild.

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Theo, and their daughter, Mary Neil McCoy Oatman. Anna is survived by her son-in-law, David Clark Oatman; grandson, Clark Conner Oatman; granddaughter, Mary Neil Oatman Incavo; and great-granddaughters, Emma Claire and Mary Neil. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Neil McRaney Burrell and husband Kenneth; and niece, Anna Mildred Burrell; and extended family and friends. The family would like to thank Nina Benitez for her support and care.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 717 Sage Road, Houston, TX 77056. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
