Natalie Claxton Sample, of Houston, Texas died peacefully in her sleep on October 2, 2018. Natalie was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on November 4, 1928. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mattie Rebecca (Bryant) and George Braden Claxton, Sr.; beloved brother, G. Braden Claxton, Jr.; and husband of 26 years, Thomas E. Sample, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Georgene (Genie) Claxton Kehoe; sister-in-law, Rosemary Claxton; and two daughters, Susan V. Sample and Elizabeth A. Sample; son-in-law; Mike Larsson, as well as her twin grandchildren, Thomas Michael Larsson and Caroline Rebecca Larsson.

Natalie attended Bossier High School in Bossier, Louisiana and Northwestern State College in Natchitoches, Louisiana. After college she was a flight attendant for the original Trans-Texas Airways. She later met and married Thomas Sample in Houston, Texas. After she had two daughters, she became a real estate agent in Houston and eventually started her own successful real estate company. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Lady Washington Chapter, where she and her sister, Genie, were treasurers. She was also a member of Colonial Dames of America, Chapter VIII, and served as President. She was very interested in genealogy and traced her family's ancestry back several centuries. She was also a long-time member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston.

Natalie was very social and outgoing, with a sense of humor that everyone around her enjoyed. She always made those around her feel welcome. She enjoyed her time serving and socializing with her fellow DAR and CDA members, as well as with her real estate clients. She treated her daughters' friends as members of the family. She will be dearly missed by so many friends and family members who loved her deeply.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018 between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm, with a Memorial Service following at 12:00 pm at Miller Funeral Services, 7723 Beechnut, Houston, Texas 77074.
